About Speech Recognition
Medical transcription has evolved over the years from traditional typing of documents to automated speech recognition (ASR) wherein the voice file comes along with a draft with high levels of accuracy.
Speech recognition technology (SRT), also known as automated speech recognition (ASR), or voice recognition editing (VRE), is having a tremendous and dramatic effect in the field of medical transcription and healthcare documentation.
It refers to the ability of a machine or program to identify words and phrases in human speech and convert them to a machine-readable text.
The draft file generated by SRT is ready for the medical language specialist (MLS) to edit and turn into an accurate and complete healthcare record.
